Birdseed Valentine

We found this fun project idea in a Highlights Magazine. Daddy and Kyle did it together.

 Here are the steps
1) First you cut a heart out of cardboard
2) Then spread shortening onto one side- and fill a shallow container with birseed

 3) Next dip the cardboard into the birdseed and then do the same thing on the other side

 Tada! A birdseed Valentine!  Kyle had so much fun with this and couldn't wait to give his Valentine to the birdies.

After it was finished I punched a hole in the top and tied a red ribbon into it.  Then we took our beautiful Birdie Valentine out to the backyard and selected a nice branch to hang it on.  Kyle enjoyed watching out the window for the birds and squirrels to enjoy!
