In this project students learned and demonstrated skills in printmaking and pattern in creating a flower print and patterned flower.
*Foam flowers
*Foam Stickers( I had flower shaped and various other shapes, Triangles, Squares etc.)
*Construction paper (various colors)
*Tempera Paint
*Foam Spouncer Brushes (I found these in the stenciling section of the craft store)
*
Printing Steps:
1.) First the kids used the spouncer brush to cover
a foam flower with paint ( let the kids choose their
and some even mixed some colors.
2.) Then I showed them how to print the flower on
paper. Each child choose a color of construction
paper and to print on. Some printing the flower a
few times on the same paper.
3.) Next we used the spouncer brush to add centers to the flower and some decorations in the background
Hanging Flower Steps:
After the kids finished the printing I let them choose another foam flower to decorate. I talked about patterns and encouraged the children to create a pattern on their flower
1.) The kids used the foam shapes to decorate and create patterns. Some of them added some paint with the spouncer and when they were all finished they added some glitter glue!
